USA Women on the Rise
The Women’s Freestyle Team has always been one of the best in the world. 2017 was no exception, as the senior team brought home a second-place finish. The team was led by arguably the best wrestler in the world, 2016 Olympic Champion Helen Maroulis, who outscored her opponents 52-0 on her way to her second World Title.
Despite a strong showing, the women still finished well behind the Japan, who have dominated the top of the podium since the beginning of the Women’s World Championships in 1987. However that does not deter our team, as we are as hungry as ever to claim gold. Help support the women’s program in their quest to dethrone the Japanes and become the premier women’s wrestling power.
